“Love is always patient; Love is always kind; Love is never envious or arrogant with pride.”

Relaxed and candid wedding photography.

My approach to weddings is always relaxed, natural, and candid. Rather than revolving all around staged photos, I believe your wedding day should be about enjoying yourself! I aim to capture events as and when they happen and deliver beautiful, authentic images that convey the atmosphere of the day. Of course, I always make sure to get all the necessary posed couple and group photos to keep gran happy.

What you can expect on your wedding day…

We typically begin with bridal preparations in the morning for those who are comfortable with it. I think this helps to tell a cohesive story and captures some of the best moments of the day.

Morning

I’ll arrive a little earlier in the morning to grab some shots of the venue while it’s still empty and the decorations are going up, before popping in to your room to say hi.

I make sure to grab lots of shots of your guests arriving before the big event starts! I remain as unobtrusive as possible to allow you to focus on your special ceremony.

Ceremony

I capture any special details you may have included, such as the quaich or tying the knot, and we pose for a photo with your witnesses after signing the wedding schedule.

Group & Couple Portraits

After leaving the chapel, and maybe a cheeky confetti tunnel, you can take some time to say hi to your guests as they’re eager to congratulate you!

When everyone’s calmed down, we take the opportunity to put together some group photos with your family and friends (enlist your maid of honour’s/best man’s help for this) and then sneak away for 15-30 minutes of quiet time and portraits of the two of you alone.

Reception

Now that the pressure’s off, the party can begin!

Your guests cheer as you enter the room, everyone tears up at the father-of-the-bride’s speech, the cake cutting and the dancing; all provide an opportunity for some amazing photos.

I stay with you until the first couple of dances to really capture the atmosphere before saying goodbye and heading home to start preparing your photos for delivery.

 FAQs

  • You’re not alone - many feel the same way. I purposely keep my approach relaxed, fun and candid to put you at ease. If you’re really nervous before your wedding, an engagement shoot (aka pre-wedding shoot) is a great chance to get used to the camera.

  • I am based in the idyllic countryside of South Aberdeenshire, and I cover anywhere in Aberdeenshire and Angus at no extra cost. Anything further afield is subject to a travel fee of 45p per mile and accommodation fees if necessary.

  • To reserve your date and secure your booking, I take a 25% non-refundable deposit. This counts towards the total package price. The remaining fee is due 4 weeks before your wedding date. I take all payments by bank transfer

  • I always try my best to accommodate different types of weddings, and I will offer bespoke packages where possible. If you have any questions about my packages, you can contact me for a commitment-free consultation.

  • Since every wedding is different, I can't guarantee an exact number of photos, but I aim for a minimum of 500 images from a full day's coverage and 300 from a half day. Most of my couples receive much more than that. These will be delivered to you in a beautiful online gallery where you order prints, download full resolution files, and share photos with friends and family.

I deliver 1-2 dozen preview images the next working day after your wedding, to give you a sneak peek and to post to social media first. Delivery time for full galleries is 4-6 weeks, with videos taking 8-12 weeks. I always aim to deliver faster than this, but sometimes during busy parts of the year this is not possible while still maintaining quality.

  • Yes, please! Some calories to keep me running around and catching all the candid moments of the day are much appreciated. Ask your venue to provide a vendor meal for the photographer and, if applicable, the second shooter too.

A meal break is not necessary with most half day bookings.

  • For those who prefer something more tangible, I offer a USB drive with a presentation box to store your files as well as a range of luxury wedding albums. These are custom made and uniquely designed for each customer. Simply let me know you're interested in an album at any point after your booking.
